Celebrate Mario Day with Big News!

Mario Day, March 10 (Mar10), is a day to celebrate everyone’s favorite Italian plumber turned princess saver! Retailers are offering exclusive sales on games. Arcades are packing in as many as can fit. Possibly most importantly, Universal Studios Hollywood has made the announcement that Super Mario World will be opening at some point in 2023!!

Universal Studios Japan has had their Super Mario World open since March 19, 2021. It is said to be getting a Donkey Kong expansion in 2024. Fans in the United Stated have been anxiously awaiting the news of when Hollywood would unveil their newest land.

A press release from Nintendo claims that, “the land will transport theme park guests and Nintendo fans into the world of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach to become part of the compelling universe.” While themed dining and shopping are a give in, not much else is known about what attractions will be in the land. Universal has confirmed an immersive dark ride experience though.
